Volsun has specialized in the production of many kinds of insulation tubes for over 14 years in China, including cold shrink tubes, heat shrink tubes and other insulation tubes, etc.
So what is the difference between cold shrink tube and heat shrink tube ?

Heat shrink tube                   Silicone cold shrink tube          EPDM cold shrink tube

  1. Different material
Cold shrink tubes are made of rubber material, including EPDM and silicone rubber, has excellent properties like high shrink ratio, weatherproof, physical mechanical performance, puncture resistance, widely used in seal waterproof insulation protection of connectors in communication industry, power cable and other connection points.
Heat shrink tubes are mainly made of polyolefin material, has excellent physical and chemical electrical performance, widely used in electronics, machinery, communications and automotive manufacturing fields.

  1. Different technology
Cold shrink tube is a kind of rubber sleeve that expands in advance on the supporting core. When in use, just need to remove the support core after positioning.
Heat shrink tube is a product of specified size obtained by extrusion molding of high polymer or high polymer alloy, then heated and expanded after irradiation, and then cooled and finalized. When used, need to heat first and shrink to the shape and size before expansion.

  1. Different cost and usage
Compared to the heat shrink tube, the cost of cold shrink tube is higher, but easy to install, no need to heat and other special tools when used.
